Hey everyone, I’m Taunya Struhs.
My husband Jim and I moved to Amador County in August of 2009, four months before my daughter Elsa was born. We live in Pine Grove and are really fond of our neighbors and how warmly we’ve been received since moving here. I became involved with the Mother’s Club of Amador County (MCAC) in April 2011 because I wanted to continue to meet new mom friends as I had done in the local lactation group, and at the area playgroup/s. Joining this club was the next logical step for me in my experience (although looking back, I do wish I would have known about and joined the club earlier because everyone is so awesome
).
I thoroughly enjoy my time as a stay-at-home mom to our now two-year-old daughter. She astonishes me every day with her individuality and cleverness. We appreciate spending time in nature, like to stay active, and love experiencing a wide variety of fun and interesting activities. Being a mom is seriously the best job ever!
I’m really looking forward to my position as Treasurer with MCAC, especially in light of the challenges our club is overcoming due to lost funding from cutbacks. My aim is to ensure that we meet and exceed our mission and goals, all while keeping our resources solid. I am eager to explore options for community collaborations and sponsorship funding so that we can continue to do things like making the holidays brighter for families in need and extending our reach to other Amador County families who may be experiencing times of difficulty.
I am very excited to meet and connect with more moms and families in this terrific community of ours, and I’m super stoked that I’ll be working with an awesome, dedicated, and 100% volunteer board! Looking forward to an extraordinary year with this amazing club!
